Job Description

Cambrian Credit Union is searching for a Digital Personal Banking Advisor experienced in providing complex credit and deposit advice paired with the ability to identify and educate our members on the value of our products and services, to join our team.

As a senior member of the Digital Sales Team, the Digital Banking Advisor works to understand the financial needs of members or potential members providing complex credit and deposit advice as well as proactively identifying and discussing opportunities for Cambrian products and services including qualified referrals to other business units.

Key responsibilities include the active management of all incoming new digital channel leads, building and growing the digital member portfolio through an in-depth review of the member’s financial picture, surpassing member’s service expectations via phone and video, promptly and actively engaging with members, and providing proactive financial advice and solutions that fit the member’s personal situation.

Working within a pooled service delivery model, the Digital Personal Banking Advisor team partners together to provide a seamless service experience to digital members, thoroughly documenting member interactions in the team CRM platform, communicating about service issues, sharing best practices with a focus on team success.

In the role of Digital Personal Banking Advisor, you will:

  • Quickly develop rapport with digital members, working to identify and understand their needs and provide appropriate financial advice and recommendations on complex credit and deposit services. Document interactions, so the member can be supported seamlessly in a team setting. Where appropriate, engage the support of or make referrals to the Wealth Management and Small Business advisors and other internal partners to meet the member’s comprehensive financial needs.
  • Ask thoughtful financial questions and engage members to create positive experiences and deepen their relationship with Cambrian. Leverage your knowledge and expertise to increase the member’s financial confidence and wellbeing by providing financial advice, answering questions and addressing any concerns, while providing an end-to-end digital experience.
  • Provide leadership and expertise in proactively promoting, selling and servicing a full range of Cambrian’s products and services that meet the members’ needs; recognizing and acting on referral and cross selling opportunities; consistent delivery of service excellence to members in all areas of contact.
  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding specific individual and team-based business goals through the application of proactive sales techniques and sales management activities, including the development of an effective pipeline of future business opportunities and sales lead activities.
  • Process a full range of member transactions including, but not limited to opening accounts, credit cards, term deposits, lines of credit, mortgages, personal loans and related insurance products.

Your experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of Financial Service Officer (FSO) experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge and adherence to utilization of digital tools: Video Banking, Chat, Coconut, WebEx, Proofpoint, OneSpan, Outlook, Microsoft Suite, Mobile Banking, Online Banking and others)
  • A high level of digital literacy is required. Must be able to quickly learn use and optimize digital tools and platforms, guide members through their use while troubleshooting any technical issues.
  • Critical thinker who analyzes information and uses logic to address issues, problems and challenges
  • Ability to work well in an environment with multiple and often changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently to meet and exceed objectives
  • Open to working on rotational shifts between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM on Friday, and 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM on Saturday.
