Job Description

Digital Media Executive

Team: Digital Media

Reports to: Digital Manager / Senior Digital Manager

Location: Head office, London’s West End (hybrid, 3 days a week in the office)

About AKA

AKA is one of the world’s most successful entertainment marketing agencies. We offer full-service advertising and marketing for theatre, live entertainment, film, music, museums, galleries, events and attractions, working with some of the country’s leading organisations.

Our Digital Media team plans and delivers paid campaigns that help audiences discover, book and attend. We’re looking for a Digital Media Executive to join us.

About the role

Reporting to the Digital Manager / Senior Digital Manager, you will plan, activate, optimise and report on digital media campaigns across a portfolio of client accounts. You’ll work across paid social, paid search, programmatic, display, video, digital out-of-home and emerging channels, building strong technical platform knowledge alongside a commercial understanding of what our clients are trying to achieve.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role. Day to day, you’ll be building and launching campaigns, checking them carefully, keeping an eye on performance and budgets, and reporting back on results. It’s the ideal place to learn the fundamentals of digital media and build the confidence to take ownership of campaigns.

What you’ll do

Campaign delivery

  • Build, launch and optimise campaigns across digital platforms, following AKA best practice and platform guidance
  • Monitor performance and pacing day to day, implementing agreed optimisations and flagging any delivery or budget concerns early
  • Produce clear, accurate campaign reports and contribute insights to monthly client reviews
  • Support Managers and Senior Executives with campaign implementation on larger, more complex accounts

Quality and accuracy

  • Self-QA all campaign builds against client-specific QA documentation and complete pre-live checks before requesting approval
  • Keep campaign records in Asana up to date, including proofs, QA documentation and supporting materials
  • Maintain accurate media plans and schedules, and act on QA feedback promptly before campaigns go live

Commercial and operational

  • Ensure bookings, billing and delivery schedules are completed accurately and on time
  • Manage your own workload across multiple accounts, prioritising effectively to meet deadlines

Clients and team

  • Support day-to-day communication with clients, media owners and internal teams, keeping everyone informed of campaign progress
  • Help prepare client reports, presentations and campaign updates
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Digital Media team, sharing learnings, platform updates and best practice
  • Act as a positive, professional ambassador for the Digital Media team and the agency, both internally and externally

Learning and development

  • Keep up to date with platform changes, industry developments and emerging technologies, including new tools, automation and AI
  • Take ownership of your development through training, platform certifications and regular feedback

What you’ll bring

Essential

  • A proactive attitude and a curious nature
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing accurate, high-quality work
  • Experience handling client requests directly, often with quick turnarounds
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including explaining performance insights to clients and colleagues
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • A basic understanding of digital media’s role within the marketing mix
  • Commercial awareness and confident numeracy
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook

Nice to have

  • Agency or in-house experience in marketing, events or PR
  • Hands-on experience building and managing campaigns on paid social, paid search or programmatic platforms, across multiple clients at once
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Google Analytics and Improvado
  • An interest in other digital channels and a willingness to explore new capabilities
  • An interest in the arts, culture and heritage sector

Don’t tick every box? If you’re excited by the role and meet most of the essentials, we’d still love to hear from you.

Where this role can take you

The Digital Media Executive role is the foundation of our Digital Media team. With clear progression to Senior Digital Executive, where you’ll own campaign delivery independently and support junior colleagues, it’s designed to set you up for a long-term career in digital media.

What we offer

  • Hybrid working, with flexibility around your 3 office days
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 31 days
  • Free theatre tickets
  • Lifeworks employee assistance programme
  • Season ticket travel loan
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Death in service life insurance
  • Ride to work scheme
