Job Role: Digital Marketing Manager

Compensation range: $2,000 AUD - $2,500 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to broadly align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who The Client Is: A Melbourne-based handcrafted lighting brand creating premium lighting alongside a curated range of home décor. Every piece is designed and made by the founder. Customers include homeowners, interior designers, architects, and businesses seeking distinctive lighting. The brand is built on craftsmanship, care, and personal service. To date, the business has grown primarily through organic channels and referrals, creating significant opportunities for an experienced marketer to make a meaningful impact.

We are looking for an experienced Digital Marketing Manager to take ownership of our marketing strategy and day-to-day execution across social media, email, blogs, paid advertising and B2B outreach. This is a senior role for someone who brings strategic thinking, strong creative judgment, and the ability to execute to a high standard. You've done this before, ideally for a product-based or design-led brand. You can drive strategy, create compelling content, and manage marketing activities independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and execution of a digital marketing growth strategy.
  • Create and publish high quality content across social media, email, blogs, paid advertising and other marketing channels, that reflects the brand’s voice & aesthetic.
  • Manage and grow the brand’s social media presence, with a strong focus on Instagram.
  • Plan and execute email marketing campaigns and newsletters, and automated flows.
  • Develop creative assets, copy, and audiences for paid advertising campaigns across Meta, working closely with the founders on campaign strategy and execution, with scope to expand into Google Ads over time.
  • Support content-driven SEO initiatives through blog creation and content optimisation
  • Assist with landing page content and updates
  • Lead marketing planning, maintain content calendars, and manage projects to a high standard.
  • Monitor content performance across all channels and prepare insights and recommendations to improve results.
  • Use AI tools to work efficiently without compromising quality or brand authenticity.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for someone who combines strong digital marketing capability with curiosity, judgement, and initiative. You learn quickly, adapt your approach to suit a boutique founder-led business, and take pride in producing thoughtful, high-quality work.

  • 3-5 years experience in a similar role, with a demonstrated track record of driving measurable growth, ideally for an ecommerce, product-based, or design-led business.
  • Strong copywriting skills and graphic design capability (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar), with the ability to develop a deep understanding of a brand's voice and visual aesthetic.
  • Proven experience in social media management, email marketing and content creation.
  • Experience managing or supporting paid advertising campaigns, particularly across Meta platforms.
  • Working knowledge of SEO principles and content optimisation.
  • Solid experience with email marketing platforms and a strong understanding of email marketing best practice, including segmentation, automation, and performance optimisation.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude to improve content quality and workflow efficiency and comfortable working at an intermediate level across multiple platforms.
  • Familiarity with website content management systems, particularly Squarespace or WordPress.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and maintain visibility over results.
  • Experience in a design-led, homewares, interiors, or lifestyle brand is a plus.

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
