We are looking for a Digital Marketing Consultant - Africa to join our Customer Solutions & Engagement team within one of Construction Industries’ newly formed divisions: Customer Solutions Growth Regions.

About Customer Solutions Growth Regions Division

This team, alongside dealers, engages closely with customers to create, customize, and adapt solutions to meet their needs by leveraging the extensive range of offerings available today—across products and services, digital and technology, rental and used, and financing.

The division is regionally focused on Africa, the Middle East, Eurasia, Asia (excluding Japan), and Latin America (LATAM) and organized into three functional areas: Customer Facing, Customer Solutions, and Business Enablers.

This role will serve as a regional marketing advisor and execution leader, shaping and delivering integrated marketing communications that accelerate dealer-led growth, customer engagement and demand generation across diverse African markets.

Role Definition:

P artners closely with regional leadership, dealers, and global marketing teams to translate Customer Solutions Growth Regions strategy into scalable, customer‑back marketing programs—with strong emphasis on lead quality, digital enablement, and measurable commercial impact.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities):

Regional Marketing Communications Strategy

  • Develop and execute an Africa-wide marketing communications strategy aligned to CSGR go‑to‑market priorities.

  • Translate global value propositions into locally relevant, customer‑centric messaging that reflects market maturity, customer needs, and dealer capability.

  • Ensure consistent positioning across products, solutions, technologies, and services, while allowing local adaptation.

Dealer Enablement & Co‑Marketing

  • Act as a marketing consultant to dealers, guiding them on campaign planning, messaging, and execution.

  • Influence dealers to adopt retail‑focused, demand‑driven marketing approaches across the customer journey

  • Support dealers in improving lead generation, follow‑up discipline, and conversion effectiveness.

Demand Generation & Campaign Execution

  • Plan and deploy integrated marketing campaigns supporting:

  • New product introductions

  • Industry and segment growth priorities

  • Technology, digital, and service adoption

  • Leverage a mix of digital, social, content, and event‑based channels appropriate to African markets.

  • Ensure campaigns are outcome‑driven, with clear objectives tied to pipeline and sales impact.

Digital & Customer Engagement Focus

  • Drive increased use of digital marketing and engagement platforms to improve reach, efficiency, and scalability.

  • Partner with digital and CRM teams to support:

  • Lead capture and management

  • Customer segmentation and targeting

  • Customer journey and experience improvements

  • Promote best practices that improve customer engagement quality

Customer Insights & Market Intelligence

  • Collect and synthesize insights on:

  • Customer behavior and buying drivers

  • Industry and market trends

  • Competitive positioning

  • Use insights to refine messaging, prioritize investments, and guide leadership decisions.

Agency & Budget Management

  • Manage regional agencies and external partners with clear KPIs and accountability.

  • Partner with regional counterparts on marketing budget planning and ROI tracking.

  • Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend optimization actions.

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.

  • 7 - 10+ years of marketing or marketing communications experience, preferably in B2B, industrial, or complex dealer‑based environments.

  • Experience in Africa or other Growth Regions.

  • French or Arabic language proficiency - added advantage

  • Knowledge of dealer‑led go‑to‑market models.

  • Familiarity with CRM, marketing automation, and lead management concepts.

  • Experience translating global strategies into local execution.

  • Exposure to Caterpillar products, services, or similar industrial solutions (preferred, not required).

Demonstrated experience in:

  • Integrated marketing campaigns

  • Dealer or channel marketing

  • Digital and lead‑based marketing programs

  • Strong ability to work cross‑culturally and cross‑functionally in a regional role.

  • Proven communication, influencing, and stakeholder‑management skills.

  • Comfortable operating in diverse, emerging, and developed market contexts.

What You Have (Basic Skills Required):

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.

Vendor/Supplier Management: Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g. vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants and suppliers).

Promotion and Marketing Communications Knowledge of different promotional and marketing communication techniques; ability to use different marketing channels and tools in combination to focus on how a business communicates a message to the market.

Additional Information:

  • Must be able to travel 20% - 30% (Predominantly within the African region)

  • Onsite, five days a week in Kempton Park, Johannesburg.

  • Relocation will not be supported.
