Description

Job Purpose:Lead the strategic direction, and oversight of digital and financial inclusion portfolios and policies. This role ensures effective risk management, regulatory compliance, and alignment with the bank's strategic objectives. The Head is responsible for driving portfolio growth, enhancing profitability, and supporting digital transformation and financial inclusion initiatives while ensuring credit quality and leveraging innovative practices.Job Description:1.Set the strategic direction for digital banking and financial inclusion risk management, drive innovation in lending practices using alternative data, advanced analytics, and digital transformation strategies to expand market share and enhance financial inclusion.2.Lead the development of adaptive and innovative policies for digital lending and financial inclusion segments, ensuring resilience and market competitiveness.3.Define risk appetite for digital and financial inclusion Products and Portfolios, in line with the Bank's overall Risk appetite.4.Lead the development of a robust Risk Framework and oversee the implementation of the needed infrastructure for digital and financial inclusion products. Ensure that risk assessment processes, policies, and procedures are aligned with the bank's risk appetite and regulatory requirements in collaboration with bank’s partners5.Optimize product's profitability, maximize the Risk Adjusted Return and provide guidance to pricing strategies, credit cost management, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.6.Lead the launch of new products, programs, and tests catering to the Digital Bank and Financial inclusion needs in line with their growth strategies, as well as optimizing customer lifetime value by enhancing cross-sell, upsell, and product optimization strategies.7.Utilize behavioural data to enhance credit assessments and decision-making processes. Incorporate insights into scoring models to improve accuracy and inclusivity in credit evaluations.8.Lead the credit cycle for digital and financial inclusion products, ensuring sound risk management in policies development leveraging alternative data and scoring models underwriting, fraud detection measures, and limit management.9.Implement strategies for reducing non-performing loans and losses and improve recovery rates in collaboration with collections teams.10.Lead the Consumer Risk transformation initiatives, spread-head innovation in Risk management practices for digital banking and financial inclusion products, identify emerging risks and integrate solutions to mitigate them, while ensuring competitive advantage and resilience.11.Collaborate with all Stakeholders including Business, IT, CDO, operations, marketing, and compliance to integrate Risk mitigation into digital and financial inclusion products.12.Proactively identify and address risks within the portfolio. Develop and execute strategies to mitigate risks, including policy adjustments and operational improvements, to protect portfolio integrity.13.Leverage advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI tools to enhance credit decisioning, decision trees, and risk scoring models of the products.14.Develop and implement customer-centric risk management strategies that support digital and financial inclusion while safeguarding the bank's risk appetite, ensuring that underserved segments have access to credit while mitigating Credit and Fraud Risks.Strategy15.Participate in the formulation and implementation of the Digital Lending Risk & Strategic Analytics Department strategy to ensure the alignment with CIB strategy.Policies, Processes and Procedures16.Participate and recommend improvements to policies, processes and procedures and manage their implementation to ensure all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled.Day-to-day management17.Supervise the day-to-day operations Digital Lending Risk & Strategic Analytics team providing some guidance in the related area, encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards.Compliance18.Ensure compliance with all relevant CBE regulations, banking laws, AML regulations and internal CIB policies and code of conduct in order to maintain CIB’s sound legal position and mitigate any potential risks.Supervision19.Supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in compliance with the set policies, processes and procedures.

Qualifications

Commercial International Bank was established in 1975 as a joint venture between the National Bank of Egypt (NBE, 51%) and the Chase Manhattan Bank (49%) under the name "Chase National Bank of Egypt”.
