Job Description

About Kapitol

At Kapitol, we're redefining what a modern builder looks like.

Since day one, we've challenged traditional construction thinking by combining innovation, technology and customer-focused delivery to achieve better outcomes for our clients. From Digital Engineering and Design Management through to project delivery and continuous improvement, we're constantly looking for smarter and more sustainable ways to build.

Today, Kapitol is recognised as one of Australia's leading builders, delivering projects across a diverse portfolio spanning data centres, commercial, high-end residential and education sectors. We pride ourselves on exceptional people, strong partnerships and a commitment to improving the construction industry through innovation, collaboration and industry-leading project delivery.

As our projects continue to grow in complexity and scale, we're continuing to invest in our Digital Engineering capability. Our Digital Engineering team plays a critical role in how we plan, coordinate and deliver projects, helping to identify issues earlier, improve design outcomes, reduce rework and drive better project performance.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Digital Engineering Manager to join our growing Digital Engineering team.

Working across large-scale, high-profile and technically complex projects, you'll be responsible for driving Digital Engineering outcomes from project mobilisation through to handover. Acting as the project's Digital Engineering lead, you'll oversee BIM and VDC deliverables, model coordination, information management and digital workflows that support successful project delivery.

Working closely with Design Managers, Project Managers, Consultants, Trade Partners and Site Teams, you'll help identify and resolve issues before they reach site, improve constructability, reduce project risk and ensure digital deliverables align with construction and commissioning requirements.

You'll play a key role in embedding model-based delivery across projects while supporting the development of Digital Engineering capability within project teams and mentoring Digital Engineering Coordinators as required.

You'll have the opportunity to work with industry-leading technology while contributing to the continued growth and maturity of Digital Engineering at Kapitol.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, federate and audit multidisciplinary BIM models across consultants, trade partners and project teams.
  • Run clash detection and constructability reviews, identifying and resolving issues before they impact site delivery.
  • Facilitate Digital Engineering coordination meetings and drive timely closure of design and coordination actions.
  • Support implementation of project Digital Engineering Management Plans (DEMPs) and BIM standards.
  • Manage project information within Common Data Environments (CDEs), including Autodesk Forma and Aconex.
  • Conduct model audits and report on model quality, coordination performance and project risks.
  • Utilise reality capture technologies such as OpenSpace and Cintoo to validate site conditions and installation quality.
  • Support construction sequencing, logistics planning and model-based project delivery initiatives.
  • Deliver site-verified as-built models and structured asset information to support project handover requirements.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project stakeholders while championing Digital Engineering best practice.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, innovation opportunities and capability development across the business.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Digital Engineering, BIM or VDC leader with a passion for using technology to improve the way construction projects are planned, coordinated and delivered.

You may have built your career within a commercial builder, engineering consultancy or specialist Digital Engineering environment and are now looking for an opportunity to influence project outcomes on a larger scale.

Why Kapitol?

  • Work on some of Australia's most complex and technically challenging construction projects.
  • Join a builder where Digital Engineering is embedded into project delivery, not treated as a support function.
  • Lead Digital Engineering outcomes on major projects from mobilisation through to handover.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary environment alongside Digital Engineering specialists, Design Managers, Architects, Technical Engineers and Project Delivery teams.
  • Be part of a growing Digital Engineering function helping shape how technology is used across the business.
  • Gain exposure to industry-leading BIM, VDC and reality capture technologies.
  • Build your career within a company that invests heavily in innovation, technology and capability development.
  • Access industry-leading health and wellbeing initiatives, including our partnership with Everlab alongside other emplolyee benefits.
  • Join Australia's #1 Builder as recognised in the 2026 Hubexo Construction League Report.
