Technology is playing an increasingly important role in how we serve our customers, colleagues, and communities.
We're looking for a Digital Engineering Manager to lead our Software Engineering Practice and help shape the future of software delivery across Anglian Water. This is a leadership role that combines technical credibility, people leadership and strategic influence. You'll be responsible for creating an environment where engineers can thrive, engineering standards are consistently applied, and delivery teams are equipped to build secure, scalable, and resilient digital products.
You'll lead a community of software engineers spanning permanent employees and delivery partners, supporting their development while ensuring the organisation continues to evolve its engineering capability and ways of working.

Why apply?
This isn’t just an opportunity to lead a software engineering team. It’s a chance to shape how engineering is done at Anglian Water.
You’ll influence our engineering strategy, develop talented people and help create the standards, culture and ways of working that enable teams to deliver secure, scalable and resilient digital products. Working across Product, Architecture, Cyber and DDaT, you’ll have the visibility and influence to make meaningful change while building an engineering community where people can thrive.
If you want the autonomy to shape an engineering practice, develop great people and leave a lasting impact on a major organisation’s digital future, we’d love to hear from you.

Anglian Water supply water and water recycling services to more than six million domestic and business customers in the east of England and Hartlepool. Our services are at the heart of every single family and community in our region. We clean water to the highest standard, deliver it to millions of homes, and carefully manage it to ensure it never runs out.
We’re the largest water and water recycling company in England and Wales by geographic area. We’re also one of the driest regions in the country, with just 600 millimetres of rain each year, on average a third less than the rest of England. In fact some areas have a lower annual rainfall than Jerusalem. That’s why it’s vital that we look after the water that we’ve got.
