The Role
Condé Nast Italy is seeking an experienced and open-minded Digital Director to join the Editorial Team of GQ Italy. Based in the HQ of Milan and reporting to the local Head of Editorial Content, the role will lead all editorial operations for GQ Italy’s website, overseeing content strategy and execution across formats and platforms. Working closely with the Editorial Team and the Senior Audience Development Manager, the Digital Director will be instrumental in shaping the brand’s voice and digital strategy, helping deliver GQ’s local and global vision across all digital touchpoints
Primary Responsibilities
Lead all editorial operations for GQ Italy’s website, overseeing the editing and publishing of all content, from daily news to long-form features and exclusives
Write, commission, and edit daily content across all sections of the website, while managing both staff editors and freelance contributors and developing content for distribution across the global GQ network
Align and coordinate GQ Italy’s digital operations with the global GQ network, working closely with Global Operations Managers and fellow Digital Leads
Collaborate with the Head of Editorial Content and Senior Audience Development Manager to maximize global syndication opportunities
Conceive, propose, and develop innovative editorial formats and projects aligned with evolving audience behaviors and business objectives
Stay abreast of industry developments to ensure coverage across digital platforms is timely, informed, and distinctive
Contribute to the brand’s social, digital and video strategy, including ideation and project development, in close coordination with Editorial, Social Media, and Video teams
Coordinate and align with all key GQ Italy’s stakeholders, including the Commercial, Marketing, and Events teams
Primary Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience as a Journalist, Editor or Content Lead in Digital Media
Proven expertise and passion for Style, Lifestyle, Culture and Sports industry
Professional fluency in Italian and English, written and spoken
Experience coordinating teams, managing editorial workflows, and leading meetings or content planning sessions
Strong editorial judgment and a solid understanding of culture in all its forms, style, lifestyle and societal issues
Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines
Ability to mentor and develop journalistic talent, offering constructive guidance on content quality and direction
Familiarity with digital publishing, content management systems and multi-platform distribution strategies
Creative mindset with the ability to envision and execute new editorial formats, events and partnerships
