The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Role Purpose:

Lead strategy, governance, and delivery of manufacturing data, data engineering, and AI/ML capabilities by overseeing data acquisition, architecture, access, tools, and operational processes to drive secure, cost-effective, business-aligned analytics outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead manufacturing data acquisition for scalable analytics and AI.
  • Drive AI and analytics adoption with measurable business value
  • Govern data assets across distributed manufacturing environments.
  • Manage data ingestion priorities, resources, and service metrics.
  • Align pipeline priorities with Division Engineering and business goals.
  • Promote enterprise data engineering standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Scale Databricks data engineering capabilities for agility and efficiency.
  • Evolve Databricks architecture for future business and technology needs.
  • Govern secure, appropriate enterprise data access.
  • Oversee access reviews, audits, and compliance controls.
  • Oversee software asset inventory and version governance.
  • Manage sustainable operations for deployed AI/ML solutions.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelors or Master’s in computer science or engineering (or related field).
  • 10+ years’ work experience in IT, manufacturing, engineering or related Industry.
  • Data engineering pipeline lifecycle management, such as ingestion, transformation, orchestration, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Proven leadership of large teams and business-critical commitments, such as production support, platform delivery, transformation programs, and operating reviews.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills, such as executive updates, stakeholder workshops, vendor engagement, and cross-functional alignment.

Desired Skills:

  • Manufacturing industry experience with MES, SCADA/controls, ERP, and related manufacturing technologies.
  • Six Sigma certification/experience and demonstrated use of structured problem solving and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • PMP certification or proven project/program leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of AI, cloud, and data platforms, including technologies such as Azure, Databricks (or similar Data Lakehouse architectures), and ML platforms.
  • Broad technical expertise across cloud, data, integration, cybersecurity, automation, and enterprise applications.
  • Experience leading global, cross-functional teams and delivering results in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within scope, and within budget while driving operational and service improvements.

The range for this position is $110,618.00 - $152,101.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
