The essential function of the position within the organization is digitally recording and annotating court proceedings and hearings; transcribing recordings; and performing research. The position works under direct supervision according to set procedures.
High School diploma or GED and one year of college or vocational school education in office skills, computer operation or a closely related field and two years of related experience. Requires strong computer skills.
Knowledge of the rules of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Ability to learn, use and understand digital recording systems and software.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, automated environment with interruptions.
Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning sensitive issues before the court.
Ability to multi-task and type accurately.
Ability to compose, proofread, and edit correspondence and reports.
Ability to plan, organize and complete assignments with minimum supervision.
Able to efficiently prioritize and organize work and meet deadlines.
