Description:

KPLC 7 News seeks a well-rounded journalist for a hybrid role producing newscasts and digital content. This unique opportunity allows a producer to flex their creative muscle by designing digital content for various platforms, researching & writing stories, and building traditional newscasts. A digital content/news producer will enterprise stories for digital platforms, support our streaming efforts, write engaging content, and cultivate contacts in the community. A candidate should be well-versed in creating news content for streaming and social media platforms and writing for both broadcast and the web.

We are searching for a candidate who has initiative, is a supportive teammate, and has excellent news judgment. The producer will work closely with news managers, reporters, photographers, and anchors to create high-quality, high-energy, innovative, and authentic broadcasts. Responding quickly to breaking news and having a keen eye for detail are required for this position

Qualifications/Requirements:

- A degree in journalism or a related field, previous work or internship, someone who can identify great video and compelling sound bites, has solid news judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to edit video & write clearly and concisely.

- Candidates must have the ability to meet deadlines, multitask in a fast-paced environment, have a good driving record, strong writing skills, and flexibility with respect to scheduling and/or assigned work shifts.
