Job Title:

Digital Content Specialist - Communications & MarketingThe Digital Content Specialist will create, design, and deploy high-quality digital content on behalf of UMMC Communications and Marketing. Their primary focus will be on ensuring our flagship social media accounts for UMMC and Children’s of Mississippi are engaging and performing well.

Education & Experience

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of work experience in communications, public relations, or marketing.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Demonstrates writing proficiency and experience managing business social media accounts, including monitoring and analytics platforms. Strong verbal communication and multitasking abilities. Technical expertise in digital asset and video board content management. Working knowledge of web development, content management systems, and search engine optimization. Ability to capture photography and develop basic graphic designs for social media and visual display materials.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrator for all UMMC-associated social media accounts managed by Communications & Marketing.
  • Develop, write, and post engaging and meaningful social media content.
  • Plans, develops and maintains web pages on the public-facing website as well as the Intranet, including writing and editing content and consulting with contributors to verify content currency, accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist Communications & Marketing leadership with content strategy as it pertains to electronic media.
  • Work with news and publications team members to consider and develop digital content to add value and interest to articles, publications, and other communications.
  • Track and report analytics from social media and digital communication campaigns.
  • Create content for and schedule posts to digital video boards controlled by Communications & Marketing.
  • Post content, including, but not limited to, news stories and publication articles, to UMMC-associated websites.
  • As assigned, facilitate the creation and dissemination of electronic newsletters produced by Communications & Marketing.
  • Provide professional assistance and support to administration in the planning, design, development and management of web-based initiatives.
