Job Description

Continental AG, commonly known as Continental and colloquially as Conti, is a German multinational tires manufacturing company. Headquartered in Hanover, Lower Saxony, it is the fourth-largest tire manufacturer. Continental Tires Holding Singapore is the subsidiary company of Continental AG based in Singapore and is responsible for sourcing natural rubber supply to Continental's tires manufacturing plants world wide.

We are seeking a forward-thinking, tech-savvy Intern to join our Supplier Quality and R&D teams for a one-year immersive program. This role is designed for a strategist with knowledge to steer sustainable automation and modern tools to replace manual, repetitive tasks with streamlined digital workflows.

Your mission will be to bridge the gap between manufacturing data and supplier quality metrics, creating a unified digital ecosystem that allows for proactive trend analysis and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Automation & Optimization: Develop and maintain sustainable automated data pipelines to reduce manual entry and repetitive reporting.
  • Data Integration: Bridge disparate data sources from Manufacturing and Supplier Quality to create a "single source of truth" for performance tracking.
  • Query Management: Design sustainable internal and external data queries that can be refreshed with minimal manual intervention.
  • Predictive Analytics: Support R&D and SQM teams by performing trend and risk analysis to identify potential quality escapes before they occur.
  • Visualization: Build and manage dynamic Power BI dashboards that provide real-time insights to stakeholders and management.
  • AI Implementation: Utilize Microsoft Copilot and other AI tools to enhance documentation, code generation for scripts, and presentation materials.

Qualifications

Technical Skills & Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Python: Basic proficiency (e.g., using Pandas, NumPy, or automation scripts) to manipulate datasets and automate tasks.
  • Microsoft Power Platform: High competence in Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query), Power BI (DAX, Data Modeling), and PowerPoint
  • Modern Workflows: Experience or strong interest in using AI/Copilot to speed up development and administrative tasks.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to look at "raw data" and see the "story"—specifically regarding manufacturing trends and supplier risks.

Soft Skills

  • The "Efficiency" Mindset: A passion for finding the simplest, most sustainable solution to complex problems.
  • Communication: Ability to translate technical data findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical team members.
  • Self-Starter: Proactive in identifying "broken" manual processes and proposing automated fixes.

Additional Information

What You’ll Gain

  • Hands-on experience in a high-impact intersection of Quality and R&D.
  • Mentorship from senior engineers and data architects.
  • A portfolio of automated tools and dashboards that you built from the ground up.
