Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As a Clinical Dietitian, you will provide medical nutrition therapy to inpatient and/or outpatient populations across a variety of specialized practice areas, including pediatrics, renal, critical care, gastroenterology, cardiology, orthopedics, neurology, and oncology.

Under the supervision of the Clinical Nutrition Manager, you will assess patients’ nutritional needs, conduct nutrition-focused physical examinations, identify and diagnose malnutrition, and develop, implement, monitor, and reassess individualized nutrition care plans. You will also provide patient and family education and coordinate referrals for continued nutrition care following discharge from the UCLA Health network.

Working as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, food service personnel, patients, and other care team members to support high-quality patient care. You will also have opportunities to contribute to departmental initiatives and performance improvement projects.


Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian required.

  • At least 1 year of pediatric clinical experience highly preferred.

  • Experience with CCS paneling highly preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
