As a Dietary Cook, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality meals that meet each resident's nutritional needs while ensuring all food safety and sanitation standards are followed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and physician-prescribed diets.

  • Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and served in accordance with dietary guidelines and quality standards.

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas.

  • Properly store, label, and rotate food items using safe food handling practices.

  • Monitor food temperatures and maintain accurate production records.

  • Work collaboratively with dietary staff to ensure timely meal service.

  • Assist with inventory, stocking, and receiving food deliveries as needed.

  • Follow all federal, state, local, and facility policies regarding food safety and sanitation.

Qualifications

  • Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, hospital, or commercial kitchen preferred.

  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection control practices.

  • Ability to prepare meals according to therapeutic and modified diets.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

  • Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain one as required).
