SCHEDULE: 40 HOURS WEEKLY, EVERY 3RD WEEKEND
This position works in close cooperation with the Clinical Dietitian and Nutrition Supervisors to perform a wide variety of diet office tasks relating to the transfer of information concerning patients/residents diets. This position functions as the lead person for the Room Service program. Utilizes DFM & Meditech software. Will be knowledgeable of modified diets. Will demonstrate the ability to provide services to infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
·90-hour food service course is preferred.
·High school diploma or equivalent.
·Completion of course work on modified diets within 2 months of hire. Must be from accredited institution or Dietary Managers Association.
·Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
·Ability to organize tasks and work in a busy environment.
·Ability to read and follow manual and computerized kardex.
·Ability to understand modified diets and calculate calories.
·Ability to work with detailed information and to demonstrate accuracy.
·Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
·Ability to work with little or no supervision.

Pella Regional Health Center is a critical access hospital in central Iowa with integrated family practice, internal medicine providers as well as general surgeons and gynecologists. Pella Regional has medical clinics in five communities (Pella, Knoxville, Ottumwa, Prairie City, Sully and Bussey) and outpatient services like Hospice of Pella and Home Health Care that extend well beyond the walls of the hospital.
