BASIC PURPOSE
To provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment.

Our Diesel Mechanics start at $ $26.00 to $28.00 hour depending on experience!

Schedule:

Sunday- Thursday 11pm-7:30am

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.

  • Complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.).

  • Take directions from and assist senior technicians with repairs.

  • Utilize fleet maintenance system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules/regulations and government guidelines.

  • Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

  • Internal: All Fleet Technicians, Drivers, Coordinators and Manager

  • External: N/A

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Onsite The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility.

  • Ability to work flexible schedule.

  • Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have 1 year of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.

  • Must furnish own personal hand tools.

  • Able to read and write legibly (e.g., to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and enter information on reports if needed); basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide).

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING

  • N/A

LICENSES

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Class A CDL license and DOT certification

  • Experience with Maximo fleet maintenance system

  • Previous mechanical and PM program experience

  • Experience using fleet maintenance software

  • Welding ability

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $26.00 -$28.00
