Job Description

Completes diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under limited supervision.

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Avondale, AZ).

Will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

  • Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Completes complex internal engine repairs

  • Performs engine overhauls unassisted

  • Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components

  • Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software

  1. The regular schedule for this position will be 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Mon-Fri. This schedule is subject to change based on business needs.
  2. This position requires a technical/trade school degree from an accredited program or equivalent work experience.
  3. The level for this position will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and skill set. Qualifications for different technician levels:
  • Technician Level II: Some relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on an intermediate number of products in-scope for technician at this location; primarily engaged in moderately complex maintenance and repair; some exposure to moderate or complex diagnostics, requires limited direct supervision, may provide basic training or guidance to new technicians.

DOT
- A current valid license is required for this role
- Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
- This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
