Diesel / Road Service Technician - $25-$50/hr - Home Base + Road Work

Location: Cumberland, RI
Schedule: Monday-Friday + Rotating On-Call
Pay Range: $25.00-$50.00 per hour
Experience Required: 5+ years (Light-, Medium-, Heavy-Duty Diesel)

Promotive is hiring an experienced Diesel / Road Service Technician for a well-established shop in Cumberland, RI that keeps both the bays and the roadside covered. This is a Monday-Friday role with a rotating on-call schedule, offering strong hourly pay, excellent benefits, and steady work.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform both in-shop and roadside repairs on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and diesel equipment

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, aftertreatment systems, and emissions components

• Handle preventive maintenance and respond to emergency breakdown calls

• Work in the shop when not on road calls (yes, you’ll still get your bay time)

• Collaborate with the service team to ensure fast, accurate, high-quality repairs

• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours and weekend support

• Document all work performed clearly and accurately using shop systems

• Represent the shop professionally in roadside situations (you’re basically the hero when you show up)

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Diesel Technician (B-Level or higher)

• Strong diagnostic and repair skills across diesel engines and related systems

• Experience with trailers, aftertreatment, and emissions systems

• Road service experience is a big plus

• Ability to work independently in roadside situations without backup

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Compensation & Benefits

• $25.00-$50.00 per hour depending on experience
