Job Title: Heavy-Duty Diesel Truck Mechanic
Location: Sioux Falls South Dakota

At I-State Truck Center, we specialize in Freightliner, Detroit Diesel, Isuzu Truck, Battle Motors, and Fruehauf Trailers—and we’re looking for skilled Diesel Technicians who take pride in quality work and want to grow their careers in a stable, team-focused environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose & repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy-duty diesel trucks
  • Use advanced diagnostics (Cummins Insite, Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link, OEM software)
  • Perform preventive maintenance (oil, brakes, inspections, lubrication)
  • Repair/replace major components (engines, transmissions, differentials, turbos)
  • Complete work orders and documentation for warranty and compliance
  • Communicate repairs and recommendations to customers
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of heavy-duty diesel repair experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Experience with trucks like Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Volvo, or Mack
  • Ability to read schematics and technical manuals
  • Basic welding/fabrication skills (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
  • Diesel tech certification or ASE (T2–T8) is a plus
