Job Title: Heavy-Duty Diesel Truck Mechanic
Location: Sioux Falls South Dakota
Company: I-State Truck Center

What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose & repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy-duty diesel trucks
  • Use advanced diagnostics (Cummins Insite, Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link, OEM software)
  • Perform preventive maintenance (oil, brakes, inspections, lubrication)
  • Repair/replace major components (engines, transmissions, differentials, turbos)
  • Complete work orders and documentation for warranty and compliance
  • Communicate repairs and recommendations to customers
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of heavy-duty diesel repair experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Experience with trucks like Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Volvo, or Mack
  • Ability to read schematics and technical manuals
  • Basic welding/fabrication skills (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
  • Diesel tech certification or ASE (T2–T8) is a plus
