Diesel Mechanic
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining diesel equipment by performing inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on diesel units and trailers. This includes Federal DOT inspections, PM services, air brakes, clutch replacements, transmission replacements, and all service-related operations on heavy-duty vehicles.
Experience with Freightliner, Volvo, or International trucks is a plus. A Class A or B CDL is required. We’re looking for professionals who are committed to excellence and willing to go above and beyond standard expectations. All work must be performed in accordance with McCarthy Tire Service policies and quality standards.
Requirements:
CDL Class B license
Diesel truck repair experience
Federal DOT Inspection License
Personal tool set
Acceptable MVR and drug test results
Must pass a DOT physical
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct vehicle inspections and diagnostic tests to identify issues
Perform preventive maintenance and install component upgrades
Address vehicle deficiencies by repairing, overhauling, assembling, or replacing parts and systems such as drive trains, brakes, steering, hydraulics, electrical, fuel systems, air conditioning, etc.
Test drive vehicles to confirm repairs and performance
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations through routine testing
Maintain accurate service and repair records
Maintain shop equipment by troubleshooting and scheduling maintenance
Contain costs by using warranties and evaluating service/parts options
Manage inventory by tracking supplies and placing orders as needed
