
🛠️ Diesel Mechanic – Rayne, Louisiana
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $24–$27/hour (based on experience)
Overtime: Time-and-a-half after 40 hours, that’s $36 - $40.50/hour
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 1:30 p.m. – Midnight
Every 3rd Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
50–60 hours/week
🔧 What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll keep our fleet of garbage trucks running strong by:
Handling repairs, inspections, and safety checks
Diagnosing and fixing electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and air systems
Using vehicle computer systems to troubleshoot and adjust engine controls
Reviewing and completing driver inspection reports
Logging work in fleet maintenance software
Test-driving trucks after service
Pitching in with teammates and keeping the shop clean
Interacting professionally with drivers
Taking on other duties as assigned
What You Bring
3+ years of diesel or heavy truck maintenance experience
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair techniques
Basic tool set (we help with a monthly allowance)
Hydraulic experience is a plus
ASE certification is a plus
Class A or B CDL is a plus
