Job Description

Diesel Mechanic - 6 Month Contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular services, maintenance, and repairs on all value vehicles as per the job card.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
  • Ensure that flat rates for repairs are adhered to.
  • Sign off job cards, tick off service schedules, and book all spare parts used (e.g., engine oils) on the job card.
  • Fit the next service sticker and double-check all work completed by the assistant.
  • Ensure vehicles are out of gear before starting any work.
  • Be available for standby or breakdowns after hours when required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Educational Qualifications: Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Certification: Trade-tested mechanic.
  • Experience: 2-3 years in a workshop environment, specifically in repairing trucks.
  • Additional Skills: Experience with Mercedes and Scania
