About the Role

Black Cat Civil are currently seeking experienced Diesel Fitters for a broad range of positions in the business, across Australia.

Emerald Based - No flights or accommodation provided

7/7 Roster - Dayshift only

Successful candidates will be responsible for servicing, maintenance and repairs of various mobile equipment that is performing critical works in some of Australia’s most iconic locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform on-site servicing, preventative maintenance, and repairs to mobile plant, including heavy earth-moving equipment, trucks, generators, and light vehicles.
  • Prepare new machines to site specification requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical faults and attend machine breakdowns on site.
  • Liaise with the Fleet Manager and/or Workshop Supervisor to diagnose faults and coordinate parts.
  • Major engine and component rebuilds.

Candidate Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant Trade Qualification in Diesel Fitting, or equivalent
  • 2+ years fitting experience, preferably on heavy earth-moving equipment
  • Extensive experience working with Caterpillar equipment highly regarded
  • Field service experience
  • Experience working with hydraulics
  • Strong focus on safety and quality
  • Open to working locally.
  • Aircon ticket and heavy vehicle driver’s licence highly regarded.
  • Reliable and a team player
