Dialysis Technician (2236)

A Brief Overview
The Dialysis Technician is responsible for direct patient care to include operation and monitoring of a variety of machines related to hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, daily patient care, and observations under the direct supervision and guidance of a registered nurse. This position is responsible for assuring quality controls and safety checks are completed by policy and protocol. Assures all equipment and supplies are current and compliant with policy, procedure, and regulatory standards and requirements. The dialysis technician may perform phlebotomy or obtain blood samples and prepare them for transport to the lab. This position may be responsible for performing both simple and complex laboratory tests. Assists in delivery of training materials to instruct patients and their families, as well as staff and other dialysis technicians, in principles and practices of dialysis. Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines and protocols to perform the functions of the job.
