Job Description
The Student Diversity Center has rebranded the Peer Educatorposition to the Dialogue Coordinator position. With the new name comes responsibilities different than what we have posted in the past. The Student Diversity Center Dialogue Coordinator will support the work of the center and fellow students in numerous ways.
- The Dialogue Coordinator will be part of the Student Diversity Center programming body, consisting of a team of 1 and staying true to the Diversity Center mission of being by students and for students
- The Dialogue Coordinator will serve as the first point of contact for students and others seeking assistance from the center
- In addition to greeting visitors, assisting visitors, scheduling rooms, and providing information to students and guests, the Dialogue Coordinator will be well versed in resources both on and off campus to give advice and make referrals for fellow students
- Dialogue Coordinators also have the opportunity to take leadership roles in leading programming, being part of campus initiatives and committees, and various other things the DC sponsors.
- Dialogue Coordinators willfacilitate a workshop insupport of the lead coordinators and planners for the LEAD Student Leadership Conference in Winter Quarter
- Dialogue Coordinators will serve as in-house and external facilitators to build capacity for leadership and dialogue by using an equity and inclusion lens for the campus community
- Successful candidates will demonstrate an understanding of intersectionality, social justice, ability to network and collaborate with others, have strong initiative/be self-directed in their work, and work both independently and as a member of a team. Successful candidates must have a desire to be a subject expert on campus and community resources, be passionate about helping others, and have a desire to develop their own leadership
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a Diversity Center Program Manager, the Dialogue Coordinators will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Superior customer service for the center: greet those who enter the center, answer questions, phone calls, and monitor the Student Diversity Center email
- Be a subject matter expert on the resources on and off campus (i.e. the Writing and Communications Center, Financial Aid, Counseling Center, local food banks, etc.) and connect students to those resources
- Research the opportunities, resources, and services offered on campus and in the community that support minoritized students, social justice, equity, and inclusion, and make the information accessible to the Diversity Center community
- Participate in the Constructive Dialogue Institute (CDI)during formation, develop workshops/programming rooted in CDI & ODEI principles, and facilitate these workshops/programs across campus.
- As a Dialogue Coordinator, take lead in implementing one workshop per quarter focused on a topic related to leadership,dialogue,anddiversity, equity, and inclusion.
- With support from the Program Manager for the Student Diversity Center, develop and implement a workshop at the annual LEAD Student Leadership Conference at UWB.
- Contribute in the planning, preparation, organization, implementation, and evaluation of all Diversity Center programs, projects, and events
- With support from Program Managers, the Dialogue Coordinator will assist and lead in class facilitation support using Constructive Dialogue Institute program’s Peer to Peer modules
- In collaboration with DC Professional Staff and the Office of Diversity Equity & Inclusion, support the facilitation of dialogue programs to student leadership teams and groups on campus
- Assist in conducting focus groups, surveys, and forums to gain information regarding campus input for the center in terms of services and programs
- Connect with student clubs and organizations to share with them the resources the DC provides
- Attend bi-weekly all-staff meetings and have bi-weekly check-ins with a Program Manager for the Student Diversity Center
- General support for the operations of the center, including room reservations, marketing, website updating, lending libraryand maintaining a clean and tidy center
- Staff the front desk and serve as a first point of contact for students and others seeking assistance from the center
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Currently enrolled student at UW Bothell, planning to graduate no earlier than June 2026, and in good academic and conduct/behavioral standing.
- Must have, and maintain 2.5 cumulative GPA or better throughout duration of employment
- Must be an undergraduate student taking a minimum of 6 credits per quarter or graduate student taking 4 credits per quarter (not including summer quarter)
- Must be in, and remain in, good standing with the University (including compliance with the Student Code of Conduct and financial obligations)
- Demonstrate an understanding of intersectionality and social justice
- Ability to network and collaborate with others
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail, professionalism, dependability, and organizational skills

Additional Requirements
- All new student employees must also complete UW's online Title IX course about preventing and responding to sex-and gender-based violence and harassment.
Compensation and Benefits
- An average of 15 work hours/week at $21.30hour with the opportunity to pick up additional hours per week but cannot exceed 19.5 hours/week (except on breaks)
