We’re looking for passionate, detail-oriented Diagnostic Technical Authors with experience in agricultural and/or plant machinery to join our growing team in Warwick.
In this role, you’ll create and maintain high-quality digital technical publications, including workshop and diagnostic manuals, helping technicians understand, diagnose and repair complex machinery effectively.
Main Responsibilities
Create clear workshop and diagnostic procedures, including step-by-step pinpoint test routines and symptom charts.
Gather, interpret and consolidate technical and engineering information.
Transform complex systems and technical specifications into structured, easy-to-understand content.
Produce service documentation using information supplied by engineering teams.
Work with key internal teams and customer stakeholders to obtain and validate technical information.
Use structured authoring tools, content management systems and established authoring guidelines.
Interpret and utilise CAD data and other technical software.
Create clear and concise briefs for Technical Illustrators.
Proofread and quality-check technical documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance with required standards.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of authoring processes, tools and working methods.
What We’re Looking For
Experience or a strong technical background in agricultural and/or plant machinery.
Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
A good understanding of vehicle or machinery diagnostic systems and communication networks such as CAN, LIN and MOST.
Strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly understand complex systems.
A genuine interest in emerging technology, particularly AI, coding and scripting, and how these can enhance technical authoring.
Strong research skills and the ability to identify and interpret the information needed to complete a task.
Experience working with content management and/or structured authoring systems.
An understanding of how to adapt technical content for different audiences and levels of expertise.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to influence and persuade.
Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
A keen eye for detail and strong proofreading skills.
A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and proposing practical solutions.
A collaborative, thorough and self-motivated approach to work.
