GENERALSTATEMENTOFTHEFUNCTION

Teach classes andassistprogram chairperson with planning, organizing, and implementing program goals and activities related to clinical activities.

EDUCATIONAND/OREXPERIENCE
Aminimum of anAssociate’s Degreewith a concentration in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or its equivalent;Bachelor’sdegree with a major or equivalent that isappropriate tothe teaching assignmentpreferred; a minimum offiveyears full-time professional experience as a general and OBGYN sonographer.
Current documentation as a registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with certifications in abdomen, OBGYN,andbreast sonography,specific to the concentrations offered.
Additionalcertification inechocardiography is preferred.
Minimum qualifications as defined by the accrediting agency(ies)JRC-DMS and CAAHEP
ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES,includethefollowing. Other duties may be assigned.
Clinical Coordinator Duties:
Maintainknowledgeofdiversity-relatedissues,legislation,andbestpractices.
Implement all duties and responsibilities offaculty/clinical coordinator, as assigned.
Coordinate clinical education with didactic& laboratoryeducation, as assigned by the program director.
Assistwithdidactic,laboratory and clinical instruction,asassisgned,under the direction of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program chair.
Coordinate clinical activities for the program, including campus laboratory and assigned clinical experiences, with theassistanceof the program chair.
Maintain open lines of communication with clinical instructors.
Develop clinical schedules with theassistanceof the program chair and agency clinical instructors.
Identifynew clinical sites and provide information for clinical education agreement negotiation to the office of the Dean, Health Sciences.
Coordinate the evaluation of clinical sites.
Provide systematic clinical supervision of students performing diagnostic medical sonography procedures.
Assistprogram chair with formative and summative student clinical evaluations.

Attendance
1. Work assigned hours for each clinicalassignmentsduring each contracted semester
2. Meet all assigned clinical assignments.
3. Arrive on time and stay for assigned length of time for clinical days.
4. Notify immediate supervisorin a timely mannerof any unplanned tardiness or absence.
5. Attend general faculty, center, division, and program meetings as schedule allows.
