UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a FULL-TIME , DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING TECHNOLOGIST LEAD .

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 100% FTE
  • First Shift

Under general direction of the Supervisor or Manager, the DI Technologist Lead provides guidance and direction to assigned staff and assists with coordinating operations of an assigned modality (which could include Ultrasound, Echocardiology, MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Cath Lab, etc.); sets priorities, assigns tasks, trains, directs daily work flow, maximizes efficiency, and serves as a positive role model to improve department performance. In addition, the Lead performs assigned technologist duties.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides direction to department staff, makes, coordinates, and monitors daily work assignments.
  • Assists with establishing work schedules and acts as resource
  • Coordinates departmental operations, includes but is not limited to: Monitors workflow and expedites work completion; assures that deadlines are met. Notifies supervisor of backlogs; assists management with establishing and adjusting priorities.
  • Assists management in development of operating policies and procedures.
  • Assures the department operates efficiently, in the absence of the supervisor or manager.
  • Prepares patient and independently performs diagnostic exams & procedures for assigned modality
  • Identifies patients properly using prescribed method.
  • Verifies patient clinical history prior to exam. Assesses patient condition and selects appropriate instrumentation for the exam.
  • Coordinates and optimizes customer service and workflow
  • Sets up exam rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are ready.
  • Inventories supplies and linens. Restocks rooms as needed.
  • Cleans and tidies exam rooms, patient holding rooms, wait rooms, etc.
  • Coordinates inventory control and supply ordering for assigned unit.

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training program in an AMA approved school; registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) And one year of experience in applicable modality OR A minimum of 6 months of technical experience in the applicable modality AND previous leadership experience.

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Legal Requirement

Certified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist. For leads in mammography, certified by ARRT as a Mammography Technologist.

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

$55.19 hourly
