Manages the daily flow of diagnostic imaging patients. Supervises imaging assistants, serves as department mentor and continually works to improve department performance.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Bachelor's Degree: Preferred
  • Five years' diagnostic imaging experience: Preferred

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification: Required
  • State Radiologic Tech (RT): Required
  • AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required

Essential Functions:

  • Reviews daily diagnostic imaging patient schedule and assigns staffing, equipment and supplies accordingly. Ensures timely processing of all patients while prioritizing emergent procedures, minimizing patient waits and optimizing turn-around times.
  • Accurately scans and confirms orders, clinical history, contrast flow records and other pertinent documents using Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Verifies all exams and ensures technologists and radiologists have all pertinent clinical information. Adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
  • Supervises imaging assistants. Manages orientation and training of new staff as needed.
  • Arranges transportation of patients to and from department, performing imaging assistant duties as needed.
  • Researches and recommends new technologies and equipment to increase departmental productivity. Monitors and troubleshoots department systems, procedures and production to improve performance.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
