Department:

Imaging Administration

The DI Services Coordinator works under limited supervision of the Tech Assistant Supervisor. Organizes and directs the work of the Technologist Assistants in the department. Will work with referring physician offices to ensure timely and efficient scheduling and improve processes to ensure quality patient care. Coordinates the day-to-day activities of the staff and serves as a resource person in handling difficult or unusual situations. Serves as a back-up resource person for billing and Meditech CWS application. Will work in collaboration with management to deal with contractual relationships with third-party TPA and/or vendor.

  • Coordinates the work assignment and activities of the Tech Assistant I and II to include providing direct support when necessary.
  • Performs the work of Tech Assistant I and II.
  • Serves as a resource person for the Technologists Assistants, Referring Physicians, Radiologists and other department staff. Will perform related duties such as providing patient care when necessary.
  • Evaluates the Technologists Assistants by direct observation of their work performance. Recommends and implements personnel practices when necessary, according to hospital policy.
  • Assures that Technologist Assistants are informed on system changes or operation through appropriate communication. Attends regular Department Meetings and in-services.
  • Routinely works with the Admitting Department, Emergency Room and referring physician offices to address any clerical issues and facilitate better patient flow.
  • Responds to general telephone inquiries concerning the activities and operation of the Diagnostic Imaging Department by directing and/or referring the inquiry to the appropriate person.
  • Registers and schedules patients' examinations in coordination with the Radiologists, Technolo­gists, and Nursing Staff to ensure improved efficiency and communication.
  • Gives input for staff evaluations and complete competency testing.
  • Audit staff registrations for accuracy for example: patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Run admitting reports pertaining to registration in the Data Repository and/or from worklist for example: Accounts missing e-mail address, cancels and or merges accounts in Registration when appropriate.
  • Analyze accounts for correct billing to ensure cases are coded in a timely manner for reimbursement.
  • Transports patients by stretcher, bed, wheelchair or walking. Provides care for patients during transportation in the department if necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Supervisory training is preferred.

Licensure: Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards required.

Experience: A minimum of two (2) years recent experience as a Tech Assistant required. Working knowledge of medical office duties and medical terminology required. Experience with PACS, Meditech and MS Office is strongly preferred. Supervisor experience preferred.

Pay Range: The hourly rate for this position is $32.07 - $38.60. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
