Job Description

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

As part of the Mahindra Auto Accessories team, the DGM – Procurement will drive strategic sourcing, vendor development, and procurement operations across the merchandise portfolio. This role is critical in building a robust supplier ecosystem, ensuring quality and cost competitiveness, and enabling efficient product development and go-to-market execution. The incumbent will work closely with design, buying, merchandising, and supply chain teams to deliver high-quality products that align with Mahindra’s brand standards and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Identification & Development

Lead vendor identification, evaluation, onboarding, and development for merchandise categories.
Build and maintain a reliable supplier network capable of supporting quality, scale, and innovation requirements.

Procurement Strategy & Contract Management

Manage procurement contracts, commercial negotiations, pricing agreements, and supplier performance.
Ensure procurement processes comply with organizational policies and commercial objectives.

Product Development Collaboration

Coordinate with design and buying teams to support product development timelines and sourcing requirements.
Partner with suppliers to facilitate prototyping, sampling, and production readiness activities.

Cost Optimization & Supply Chain Efficiency

Drive cost optimization initiatives through strategic sourcing and vendor negotiations.
Identify opportunities to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce lead times, and enhance operational effectiveness.

Quality & Compliance Management

Establish and maintain quality standards across vendors and product categories.
Work closely with suppliers to ensure compliance with product specifications, quality requirements, and ethical sourcing standards.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in procurement and strategic sourcing.
  • Proven experience in vendor management and supplier development.
  • Excellent contract negotiation and commercial management skills.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain operations and procurement processes.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on cost optimization and operational efficiency.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced business environment.

Experience

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in product and accessory design
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, Rhino, or similar 3D design tools
  • Deep understanding of materials, construction techniques, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience in luggage, travel gear, or accessory design
  • Strong problem-solving, visualization, and technical drawing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Industry Preferred

Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience in luggage, bags, travel accessories, or consumer product design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Accessory Design, or related field.
  • Proven experience in product development from concept through production.
  • Experience working with vendors, manufacturers, and sourcing teams is preferred.
