Job Description

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Purpose of the position:

Lead the planning, design, execution, commissioning, operation and continual improvement of Mechanical Buildings, Utilities and Infrastructure for the Greenfield Automotive Manufacturing Facility. Ensure infrastructure readiness for SOP, uninterrupted utility availability post SOP, operational excellence, cost optimization, safety compliance, sustainability and future capacity expansion.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning, design, execution, commissioning and operationalization of mechanical buildings, utilities and infrastructure.
  • Develop utility master plans, capacity plans and infrastructure roadmaps aligned with project milestones and future expansion.
  • Execute HVAC, compressed air, industrial water, fire-fighting and utility network projects within approved quality, cost and delivery targets.
  • Drive engineering reviews, value engineering and technology selection to optimize lifecycle cost and reliability.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, IE, SCM, Finance, Civil and Electrical teams to ensure SOP readiness.
  • Lead consultant, contractor and vendor development and performance management.
  • Ensure utility availability, reliability and optimum asset utilization after SOP.
  • Drive TPM, predictive maintenance, energy management and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, factory and safety requirements.
  • Lead risk assessment, contractor safety governance and emergency preparedness systems.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives related to energy, water and resource conservation.
  • Control Capex and operating budgets and drive continuous cost optimization.
  • Build organizational capability and continuous improvement culture.
  • Support future expansion, debottlenecking and modernization projects.

Experience

15-20 years including Greenfield manufacturing projects and utility commissioning.

Industry Preferred

Automotive OEM, Auto Component, Industrial Manufacturing, EPC Projects

Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech Mechanical Engineering
