DevOps / DBA Engineer – PostgreSQL | Terraform | Cloud

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced DevOps / DBA Engineer to join a large-scale enterprise transformation program. This role combines database administration, automation, and cloud infrastructure engineering within a fast-paced, high-availability environment.

You will play a key role in managing and optimising PostgreSQL environments, supporting CI/CD delivery pipelines, and driving infrastructure automation across cloud platforms. This position suits someone hands-on, proactive, and comfortable operating in complex enterprise environments with production support responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

· Administer, maintain, and optimise PostgreSQL databases across multiple environments

· Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins

· Build and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform

· Implement automation using Ansible and scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl

· Support and maintain cloud-based environments across AWS or Azure

· Troubleshoot database, infrastructure, and deployment issues

· Contribute to environment stability, performance tuning, and security hardening

· Participate in an on-call support rotation

· Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and delivery teams to support smooth releases and operational readiness

Required Skills & Experience

· Strong PostgreSQL DBA experience including administration, tuning, replication, backup, and restore

· Solid DevOps engineering background within enterprise environments

· Hands-on experience with:

• Terraform
• Jenkins
• Ansible
• Bash, Python, or Perl scripting

· Minimum 2 years’ experience working with AWS or Azure

· Experience supporting critical production systems, including on-call support

· Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams

Nice to Have

· Experience within large enterprise or regulated environments

· Exposure to containerisation technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes

· Experience with monitoring and observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch
