We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time DevOps Specialist to join our IT team in Langley, BC.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Applications Support, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting DevOps solutions that improve software delivery, infrastructure reliability, and operational efficiency. Working at the intersection of software development, cloud infrastructure, and IT operations, you will leverage automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern DevOps practices to streamline deployments, enhance system performance, and support business-critical applications.
This role requires a hands-on technical professional who can develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure provisioning, optimize cloud environments, and contribute to continuous improvements across the software development lifecycle.
You will be responsible for:
Designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to automate software build, test, and deployment processes.
Developing and maintaining automation workflows using Ansible to provision, configure, and manage applications and infrastructure.
Building, deploying, and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
Supporting and optimizing Azure cloud environments with a focus on performance, security, scalability, availability, and cost optimization.
Implementing and maintaining monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools such as Nagios and Splunk to ensure system reliability and operational visibility.
Administering and supporting Linux and Windows server environments.
Managing containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes, including deployment, orchestration, and troubleshooting.
Collaborating with software development, cloud, infrastructure, and security teams to integrate DevOps practices into application delivery workflows.
Troubleshooting deployment, infrastructure, application, and environment-related issues across development, testing, and production environments.
Supporting and improving software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes through automation, standardization, and process optimization.
Developing scripts and automation solutions using Bash, PowerShell, and other relevant technologies to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
Participating in system upgrades, platform enhancements, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
Creating and maintaining technical documentation, operational procedures, and deployment standards.
You have:
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of experience in software development, systems engineering, DevOps, or related technical roles.
3+ years of experience administering Linux and Windows environments.
3+ years of hands-on experience working with Azure cloud services.
Strong proficiency with Linux, Windows, Bash, PowerShell, and Java.
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, Ansible, Terraform, and related DevOps toolsets.
Strong understanding of CI/CD methodologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, and release automation.
Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
Experience designing and improving automated deployment and operational processes within modern SDLC environments.
Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving abilities in complex technical environments.
