Job Description

The DevOps Engineer will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of AutoNation’s software delivery pipelines and cloud infrastructure. This role focuses on execution, automation, and operational reliability, working under the guidance of senior engineers and DevOps leadership. The engineer will collaborate closely with application, QA, security, and infrastructure teams to improve CI/CD processes, platform stability, and developer productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using Git, Azure DevOps, and related tools.
  • Support infrastructure provisioning and configuration across AWS, Azure, and on-prem environments using Terraform, CloudFormation, and scripts.
  • Deploy and operate containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics, etc.).
  • Write and maintain automation scripts using Bash and PowerShell (Python is a plus).
  • Participate in production deployments, troubleshooting, and incident response.
  • Support platform availability, performance, and security best practices.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to improve DevOps workflows.
  • Follow established DevOps standards and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in on-call rotation with support from senior engineers.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or related roles.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS (primary) and Azure Familiarity with on-prem infrastructure is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.).
  • Experience using Terraform or CloudFormation for infrastructure automation.
  • Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Bash and PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools in cloud environments
  • Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and application deployment issues.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or equivalent practical experience preferred.

  • Cloud certifications (AWS or Azure).
