Your responsibilities
- Technical Leadership:
Lead the design and implementation of the Internal Developer Platform (Backstage-based) and define technical direction for platform engineering initiatives.
- Own architecture decisions and technical roadmap
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers
- Ensure alignment with engineering standards and best practices - Platform Strategy & Roadmap:
Define and execute the roadmap for platform engineering aligned with business goals.
- Identify opportunities to improve developer productivity
- Drive adoption of internal platform across teams
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize platform capabilities - Architecture & System Design:
Design scalable, secure, and maintainable platform architecture supporting multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
- Define abstraction layers across cloud, Kubernetes, and application layers
- Ensure high availability, performance, and cost efficiency
- Establish architectural patterns and reusable components - Developer Experience (DevEx) & Adoption:
Drive a developer-first culture by improving usability and adoption of the platform.
- Define golden paths and development standards
- Ensure platform reduces friction for development teams
- Continuously collect feedback and improve platform usability - Platform Governance & Best Practices:
Define and enforce best practices and standards across platform usage.
- Establish CI/CD standards and code quality practices
- Define security, compliance, and operational guidelines
- Ensure consistent usage of infrastructure and deployment patterns - Operational Excellence:
Ensure reliability, scalability, and observability of platform services.
- Define monitoring, alerting, and incident management practices
- Ensure platform meets SLAs/SLOs
- Drive continuous improvement through postmortems and feedback loops
Your qualifications
- At least 10 years experience in IT, including 6 years experience as a Platform Engineer and 2 years as a Platform Tech Lead (Backstage / Internal Developer Platform)
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
- Able to read and write technical documents in the English language.
- Strong programming skills (NodeJS / TypeScript / Python / Go)
- Proven experience in system design and large-scale architecture
- Experience leading engineering teams or technical initiatives
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, CI/CD, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Experience building internal platforms, developer tools, or shared services
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to have
- Experience with Backstage and plugin development
- Experience with GitOps and modern platform engineering practices
- Experience in DevSecOps and compliance environments
- Experience in multi-cloud and hybrid architectures
