Job Description

The Flexjet IT Team supports the technology needs of multiple established companies within the Private Jet industry. The DevOps Platform Engineering Manager is responsible for providing guidance and engineering solutions to fulfill business requirements using industry best practices and in accordance with architectural standards and engineering methodology. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage, train, and develop DevOps Platform Engineering team personnel, keeping apprised of deliverables/goals and actively overseeing priorities and workload.

· Design overall platforming engineering strategy for the organization, collaborating with Solution Architects, IT Security, IT Management and business leaders

· Develop platform engineering policies and procedures

· Architect, Develop, and Support the provisioning and migration of Infrastructure applications, servers, and services from cloud to on-premise services (where appropriate) while maintaining industry best practices for security, disaster recovery and business continuity.

· Architect, Design and Deliver solutions using existing Infrastructure components. Implement new infrastructure technologies as introduced and establish best practices for their adoption. Resolve unforeseen incidents and initiate change to ensure future issues can be managed more efficiently.

· Assists engineers and other operations team members in implementing and troubleshooting cloud and on-premises infrastructure solutions.

· Works closely with software architects to identify, research, and experiment with other cloud tools, technologies, and frameworks that will help our teams to move faster in our cloud environments.

· Establish standards for tools related to building, deploying, and monitoring software systems and documenting best practices.

· Identify improvements and options to reduce our operating costs in all environments.

· Interact with vendors and partners of your systems as needed

· Ability to be flexible with the schedule and work extra hours as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Networking or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience

· 5+ years of hands on experience working with AWS and/or Azure

· 5+ years experience managing virtual servers & SAN storage

· Good knowledge of Linux Operating Systems.

· Experience in working with software developers to troubleshoot deployment challenges

· Experience with software development processes and methodologies preferred

· Experience building cloud native/cloud first applications in a cloud environment such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure

· Experience preferred with platforms such as:

o AWS – MSK, API Gateway, IAM, DynamoDB, EKS

o Azure – Storage Accounts, Networking (for Hybrid), Container Applications, KeyVault

· Experience within a global enterprise

· Solid verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

REQUIRED SKILLS

· Well versed in use and support of all newer Microsoft operating systems

· Solid understanding of Windows and Linux servers including Active Directory, File Permissions, Print Servers

· Understanding the use, concepts, and implementation of IaC (Terraform, Helm, Ansible, etc.) and provisioning/delivery via pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)

· Knowledge of source control (git) and source control platforms (Azure DevOps, Github)

· Troubleshoot basic Ethernet/IP network problems

· Ability to reason and select between multiple “correct” solutions. We are an always evolving entity. As such, the “rules” are more like guidelines. DESIRED QUALITIES

• Microsoft Azure Certification Preferred

• Hyper-converged infrastructure experience is a plus

• ITIL knowledge is a plus

• Prior experience in travel or aviation industries a plus
