The University of Newcastle is seeking a DevOps Engineering Specialist to join our dynamic Data and Integration team within Digital Technology Solutions (DTS).
This is an exciting opportunity to make an impact as we modernise our business intelligence and data platforms — including the modernisation of our data services platform through the implementation of Microsoft Fabric. You’ll play a central role in strengthening the University’s data warehousing and integration capabilities as part of the data team, contributing to a robust and future-focused data services platform.
The role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, DevOps Engineering, you’ll support the day-to-day development and operational activities within the Capability Area, ensuring seamless deployment and delivery of data-driven solutions.
Your key responsibilities will include:
You’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure robust, secure, and efficient data operations aligned with the University’s digital and cyber governance standards.
About you
We’re looking for a collaborative professional who combines strong data warehousing and integration expertise with excellent leadership and people skills You’ll be as comfortable coaching and mentoring colleagues as you are designing solutions.
You will bring:
Desirable skills include project management experience and familiarity with agile and modern web technologies.
This full-time position is a continuing role at a HEW 7 Higher Education Level located at Callaghan Campus.
