Job Title: DevOps Engineer, AVP

Location: Bangalore, India

Corporate Title: Assistant Vice President

  • The DevOps Engineer will own end‑to‑end DevOps engineering for Java‑based applications deployed on WebLogic or tomcat servers.
  • The role focuses on CI/CD, automation, observability, security, and operational excellence.
  • This includes CI/CD pipeline ownership, environment automation, observability, and enabling high availability, secure deployments.
  • The role requires strong collaboration with development teams, architecture, and infrastructure groups.
  • You will bring an innovative approach to software development, focusing on using the latest technologies and practices, as part of a relentless focus on business value. You will be someone who sees engineering as team activity, with a predisposition to open code, open discussion and creating a supportive, collaborative environment. You will be ready to contribute to all stages of software delivery, from initial analysis right through to production support.

Your key responsibilities

  • Own and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for Java microservices.
  • Ensure secure, and highly available deployments.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using New Relic, Geneos, Splunk, or cloud-native equivalents
  • Support incident, problems, change management and SDLC processes aligned with CI/CD and DevOps processes. Troubleshoot infrastructure and production issues, reducing MTTR.
  • Automate build, deployment, and release processes using Maven/Gradle, Git
  • Collaborate closely with development, architecture, and infrastructure teams for smooth resolution of issues ensuring uptime of the testing / production environments.
  • Contribute to architecture discussions and operational readiness reviews

Your skills and experience

  • 12-15+ years of DevOps experience supporting Java-based enterprise systems.
  • Proven experience working in Agile/DevOps collaborative environments.


Technical / Functional Skills

  • CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for Java microservices
  • Strong experience with Core Java ecosystem (services, APIs, REST, microservices)
  • Practical experience with: Maven(build automation), Git / Bitbucket (version control), Jenkins / Teamcity (CI pipelines), UCD / ServerGrid (CD Pipelines)
  • Monitoring tools: Splunk, New Relic, Geneos, or equivalents or cloud-native equivalents
  • Familiarity with SRE practices such as SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, and resiliency engineering.


Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent.
