About the Role

As a DevOps Engineer at Tennis Australia, you'll play a key role in building, automating and supporting the Azure cloud platform that underpins our digital products and services. Working within a small, senior Technology Operations team, you'll drive Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD excellence, observability and platform reliability, while partnering closely with engineering teams to enable secure and scalable software delivery.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, ensuring all infrastructure changes are automated, reusable and version controlled.

  • Build, support and continuously improve Azure DevOps YAML CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient and reliable software delivery.

  • Manage and enhance monitoring, alerting and observability capabilities, providing actionable insights into platform and application performance.

  • Collaborate with engineering, architecture, security and operations teams to support deployments, resolve issues and deliver platform capabilities.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve cloud performance, reliability, security and cost optimisation.

  • Contribute to platform standards, automation frameworks, technical documentation and continuous improvement initiatives across the technology environment.

About You

You're a hands-on DevOps professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and creating automation-first solutions. You thrive in collaborative environments, build strong relationships across teams, and are passionate about continuously improving platforms, processes and ways of working. You can balance security, reliability and delivery outcomes while maintaining a customer-focused mindset.

Must Have

  • Proven experience in a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer or similar role.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.

  • Advanced experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

  • Experience building and maintaining Azure DevOps YAML pipelines.

  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools, ideally Datadog.

  • Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Python and/or Bash.

  • Experience supporting CI/CD-driven environments and cloud automation.

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice to Have

  • Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305 or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.

  • Experience with Ansible or other configuration management tools.

  • Experience working in enterprise-scale or multi-subscription Azure environments.

  • Understanding of GitOps, Platform Engineering and cloud-native practices.

  • Experience with cloud cost optimisation and governance frameworks.

  • Exposure to security, compliance and DevSecOps practices.

  • Experience supporting high-availability or customer-facing digital platforms.

Additional Requirements

  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.

  • Flexibility to support occasional out-of-hours activities associated with Tennis Australia events and operations.

  • A collaborative, growth mindset aligned to Tennis Australia's values of Imagination, Collaboration, Humility and Excellence

What’s to love?

  • Career development with a range of formal education and on the job training opportunities

  • Tickets to the Australian Open plus Superbox tickets to events at Rod Laver & Melbourne Arena

  • Monthly health & wellbeing activities with access to CorePlus Pilates

  • Onsite gym, tennis facilities & free onsite car parking
