About the Role
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for setting up and managing development tools, cloud infrastructure, and server environments. The role also provides technical support in operating and maintaining IT assets used in company activities and production environments, helping ensure reliable systems and smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage cloud infrastructure and Linux servers, primarily through DigitalOcean, while supporting Azure and AWS environments as needed.
Manage DNS and domain records, SSL/TLS certificates, renewals, subdomains, redirects, firewalls, and load balancers.
Set up and maintain deployment processes and CI/CD pipelines using Git, coordinating releases with web developers.
Monitor system uptime, logs, resource usage, backups, and alerts, and troubleshoot server and application issues.
Apply security best practices, including access control, secure handling of credentials and secrets, system patching, vulnerability mitigation, and backup and recovery procedures.
Maintain documentation covering servers, access handovers, domains, SSL renewals, and production troubleshooting procedures.
Review infrastructure usage and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency, performance, reliability, and production or event support.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent relevant professional experience may also be considered.
At least one to two years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, server administration, DevOps support, or a related role.
Practical experience managing DigitalOcean and Linux servers, DNS and domain configurations, and SSL certificates.
Skills and Competencies
Strong understanding of Linux system administration, networking, DNS, SSL/TLS, and cloud infrastructure.
Hands-on experience with DigitalOcean; familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services is preferred.
Familiarity with Nginx or Apache, Git, CI/CD tools, Bash or Python scripting, and deployment troubleshooting.
Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring or logging tools is an advantage.
Security-conscious, proactive, and flexible in responding to technical and operational requirements.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with developers, colleagues, vendors, and other stakeholders.
