You will join the Payments DevOps squad within BMG Delivery. The team is responsible for business‑critical payment applications and plays a key role in modernising our IT landscape.
As a Senior Java DevOps / Full Stack Engineer, you contribute equally to front‑end and back‑end development. A major focus of this role is the migration of legacy payments software to LitHTML You work end‑to‑end on your applications and take ownership from design to production and support.

Design, build and maintain Java‑based payment services
Develop and modernise front‑end components using modern frameworks
Contribute to the migration from legacy technology to LitHTML
Design clean APIs and technical solutions aligned with clean architecture
Ensure security, stability and performance of applications
Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments
Monitor applications, resolve incidents and continuously improve reliability
Actively contribute to refinement, technical improvements and user stories
Senior experience as a Java developer
Strong knowledge of:
Java 21, Spring Boot
REST APIs
SQL, JPA
TypeScript, NPM
Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, Kubernetes and OpenShift
Experience with test automation
Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools (e.g. Elastic, Log4J, Kibana, Grafana)
Awareness of application security principles
Experience with component‑based front‑end frameworks (Angular, React, Vue, Svelte or Lit)
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Nice to have
Experience in a financial or regulated environment
Experience within ING
