What to Expect

Operations responsibility (Core):

  • Deploy changes, patches, and releases in test and production environments.
  • Prepare, present, test and execute changes in Production - requiring on‑site presence 3 days per week
  • Perform occasional Production changes outside business hours (± once per month).
  • Log, investigate and resolve/escalate operational issues occurring in test and production systems.
  • Ensure high availability, data integrity, and security through appropriate controls and validation.
  • Participate in change planning and risk mitigation activities.
  • Stay up to date on DevOps tools, SRE practices, modern deployment techniques, and industry trends.
  • Suggest improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and operational robustness.

Development responsibility:

  • Work on an application distributed across multiple data centers, built on microservices architecture with Apache Kafka for synchronous replication.
  • Use proven technologies such as Java, Apache Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift to deliver 24/7 availability and resiliency.
  • Develop, test (including automated unit and integration tests), and support cloud-native applications following DevOps and DevSecOps best practices.

What Will Make You Successful?

Relevant Experience

  • Software Engineer: Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Senior Software Engineer: Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience.

Professional Skills

  • Collaborative mindset – embrace and enhance the squad way of working.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to execute complex workstreams independently with minimal supervision.

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Technical Skills

  • Strong hands‑on experience with Linux systems (RedHat preferred).
  • Experience with continuous delivery technologies: Jenkins, Git, Maven, Jira, Docker, Kubernetes, Kibana, OpenShift, Ansible, ArgoCD
  • Experience with databases ( Oracle, H2) and data modelling.
  • Understanding of SSL/TLS, HTTP/S, XML (schema, XSLT)
  • Knowledge of distributed frameworks ( Kafka, Zookeeper).
  • Comfortable collaborating with Java development teams (reading logs, understanding stack traces, deployment artifacts, etc.).

Nice-to-Have (Bonus Skills)

  • SWIFT Alliance products (Alliance Access, Alliance Gateway, Swiftnet Link) knowledge/experience.
  • SWIFT messaging formats knowledge/experience.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures and running distributed systems.
