BDR is seeking a DevOps Configuration Manager to join our growing team. This position will be performed virtually from the individual's home office while working an EST schedule. U.S. Citizenship is required. Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

BDR Solutions is seeking an experienced DevOps Configuration Manager to lead enterprise configuration management, software release management, and DevOps pipeline administration for mission-critical federal applications. The successful candidate will establish and maintain configuration management processes, administer Azure DevOps environments, automate CI/CD pipelines using YAML, and ensure software releases comply with organizational, federal, and security standards.

This position works closely with software development, cybersecurity, infrastructure, quality assurance, and program management teams to improve software delivery, increase automation, maintain configuration integrity, and support enterprise DevSecOps initiatives.

The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience with Azure DevOps, YAML pipeline development, Git-based source control, release management, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and configuration governance within Agile software development environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead enterprise Configuration Management (CM) activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Administer and maintain Azure DevOps including Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, Azure Boards, Artifacts, and Release Management.
  • Design, develop, and maintain YAML-based CI/CD pipelines supporting automated build, testing, deployment, and release activities.
  • Develop reusable YAML pipeline templates, deployment strategies, approvals, and release workflows.
  • Establish and maintain software baselines, version control, branching strategies, tagging, and release documentation.
  • Manage source code repositories using Git and enforce enterprise branching and merge policies.
  • Coordinate software builds, deployments, and production releases across multiple environments.
  • Ensure all software releases comply with organizational policies, security requirements, and federal compliance standards.
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, or Ansible.
  • Develop and maintain Configuration Management Plans (CMPs), release procedures, deployment documentation, and audit artifacts.
  • Maintain configuration status accounting and support software audits, change control boards (CCBs), and release readiness reviews.
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity teams to integrate security scanning, vulnerability remediation, and compliance validation into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement DevSecOps best practices and automate governance controls throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Support environment management, deployment automation, rollback strategies, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Monitor pipeline performance and continuously improve release automation, deployment reliability, and developer productivity.
  • Mentor development teams on Configuration Management standards and DevOps best practices.
  • Support production deployments, incident response, and release troubleshooting.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of Configuration Management, DevOps Engineering, Release Engineering, or Software Engineering experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Azure DevOps Services, including Azure Repos, Pipelines, Boards, Artifacts, and Release Management.
  • Advanced proficiency developing and maintaining YAML CI/CD pipelines including multi-stage deployments, reusable templates, variable groups, approvals, and deployment strategies.
  • Strong understanding of Software Configuration Management (SCM) principles, version control, change management, and release governance.
  • Experience managing Git repositories, branching strategies, merge requests, tagging, and software baselines.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, ARM Templates, Bicep, Ansible, or similar technologies.
  • Experience supporting cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application deployments.
  • Strong scripting experience using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps practices including automated testing, code quality analysis, vulnerability scanning, and compliance validation.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure software releases comply with organizational, federal, and security standards.
  • Experience supporting Agile software development and CI/CD best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional
  • Experience supporting federal agencies or Department of Homeland Security programs.
  • Experience with GitFlow, GitHub Flow, or trunk-based development strategies.
  • Experience supporting Change Control Boards (CCB), Release Readiness Reviews, and Configuration Audits.
  • Knowledge of NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, CISA Secure Software Development practices, and federal cybersecurity requirements.
  • Experience with Azure Policy, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Fortify, Veracode, or similar DevSecOps tools.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow Change Management processes.
  • Experience supporting enterprise cloud modernization and application migration initiatives.

Security Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required. Selected applicants must successfully complete a government background investigation and maintain eligibility for a Public Trust or higher security clearance, as required.
  • In addition, U.S Citizenship is required. Select applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be able to obtain a government-granted security clearance. Individuals may also be subject to a background investigation including, but not limited to criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.

The compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to location, skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
