Job Description

Job Location: United Ability - Birmingham, AL 35211Working 25-29 hours per week.
United Ability is an organization that provides a variety of services to individuals with disabilities.  We are currently seeking candidates to join our team as Development/Employment Coordinator. The role assists in the coordination, recruitment, community engagement, and networking aspects of specialized community services. This role involves marketing services for client recruitment, working with community members and organizations to coordinate meaningful and relevant initiatives for clients. Additionally, the coordinator assists in implementation of services and maintains documentation according to program standards.

Collaborating with other team members, you will:
- Coordinate and support the implementation, growth, and daily operations of The Collective program, including expanding services, schedules, and participant engagement opportunities.
- Recruit participants and market specialized services through community outreach, networking, and relationship building with businesses, schools, and community organizations.
- Plan and facilitate community-based activities, special events, and meaningful experiences that promote social, recreational, and independent living outcomes for participants.
- Coordinate and teach College Prep programming focused on post-secondary readiness, career exploration, and self-advocacy.
- Independently build and manage a caseload of participants by providing individualized job coaching, life skills instruction, and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to enhance service delivery and develop innovative programming opportunities.
- Maintain accurate documentation, participant records, and program data in accordance with organizational policies and standards.
- Assist with program evaluation and provide recommendations to improve participant outcomes, enrollment, and program sustainability.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the organization's mission and strategic goals.
Applicant general qualifications include:
- High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ideal candidates possess strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and good judgement.
- Excellent communication skills with individuals with disabilities, employers, and funders are essential.
- The ability to manage caseloads, schedules, work contacts and daily tasks independently is required.
- Candidates must be proactive, self-motivated and demonstrate initiative within set guidelines.
- Flexibility for evening and weekend work is required.
- Access to reliable home internet required.
- Experience in direct sales, promoting services, networking, relationship management, and/or professional agency/or organization involvement desired
- Adaptability to varying funding streams and program requirements, including government, state, and direct-pay services in desired.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
