We are working to increase vehicle safety by developing seatbelts, airbags and steering wheels and you can be part of our team as Development Technician, Energetic Materials

The Development Technician will learn a variety of methods and work areas which will allow the test team the flexibility to shift resources to areas of demand. This position will focus mostly on ballistic testing and data acquisition along with device and material autoignition testing as required.

This role will do the hands on work involved in developing, demonstrating and validating pyrotechnic energetic materials and devices that keep Autoliv at the forefront of innovation in the Automotive Safety Market.

Your role will involve

  • Learn and carry out testing of energetic materials and devices

  • Support the team and supervisor in any areas needed for group success

  • Initiate and participate in continuous improvement activities.

If you have/are:

  • ·High school diploma with relevant experience or an Associates degree/Technical College: Electronics technician or similar is considered a plus

  • 2+ years of experience testing energetic materials or devices.

  • 2+ years of experience in data acquisition (pressure, temperature, etc…) and electronic controllers (ovens, etc…)

  • An understanding of energetic materials and devices

  • A working knowledge of standard safety practices used when handling energetic materials and the willingness to use these practices daily is essential.

  • Setup and operate Data Acquisition Systems

  • Execution to test plans

  • Participate in talent cross training efforts and mentorship assignments

  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Power Point, SharePoint.

Additional information:

  • Occasional travel may be required.

  • Occasional demands for extended hours or weekend work may be required to meet business needs.

  • This role requires long term capability to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
