Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead activities in the research, design, planning, development, and evaluation of new and advanced network technologies, translating customer requirements and strategic business objectives into final product designs
• Perform in-depth analysis of customer application needs within network environments, including network modeling, simulation, and validation testing to ensure optimal solution performance
• Provide technical consulting and collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and align on design direction
• Engineer and develop high-speed network transport solutions to enable application functionality and performance targets
• Analyze moderately complex technical problems by evaluating relevant data and identifiable factors, and apply sound engineering judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate solutions

Experiences/Education - Required

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field
• Master's degree is preferred
• Intermediate level project management knowledge, including standard methodologies and best practices
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in telecommunications, network technology development, or product engineering
• Strong customer awareness, with the ability to understand customer needs and translate them into actionable technical or product solutions

• Proven track record in project management, with the ability to translate customer needs into clear technical requirements and product design inputs
• Demonstrated experience leading and/or actively contributing to cross-functional teams in a collaborative and results-driven environment
• Solid proficiency in PRO/E and AutoCAD, with strong understanding of tolerance analysis; hands-on experience in plastic molding and metal part manufacturing processes is preferred
• Good knowledge of telecommunications products, network technologies, and core engineering principles; experience in fiber optic technologies and fiber management is highly preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work within defined procedures while exercising sound engineering judgment on routine to moderately complex issues
• Innovation-driven mindset with the ability to propose practical and effective solutions
• Fluent in both written and spoken English
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting
