About the Role

The Development Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning and execution of complex development projects by managing project governance, resources, stakeholders, budgets, and delivery activities throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with technical, quality, and customer requirements while driving project excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and experience:

  • BSc Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Master's degree will be advantageous.
  • Formal Project Management qualification or equivalent certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Minimum 5 years' Project Management experience within an engineering or technology environment.
  • Proven experience in operational management, stakeholder engagement, customer liaison, and leading multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience managing complex development projects throughout the full project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities:

Project Planning and Delivery

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of development projects throughout the project lifecycle to achieve scope, schedule, cost, quality, and customer objectives, resulting in the successful delivery of projects aligned with business and technical requirements.

Project Governance and Compliance

Implement project governance frameworks, methodologies, quality controls, and compliance processes to ensure effective project oversight, informed decision-making, and consistent delivery in accordance with organisational standards and best practices.

Stakeholder and Resource Management

Manage project resources, multidisciplinary teams, customers, and key stakeholders to optimise collaboration, resolve project challenges, and ensure the successful achievement of programme and project objectives.

Project Performance and Continuous Improvement

Monitor project performance, budgets, schedules, risks, issues, and milestones to identify improvement opportunities, mitigate delivery risks, and support informed decision-making that enhances project outcomes and organisational performance.

Project Leadership and Capability Development

Develop project management capability by coaching project teams, promoting governance and best practices, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement to strengthen organisational project delivery capability.
